The notebook, explained

How we research.

Food & Culture is prepared for Staple Atelier through AI-assisted desk research. Source links sit alongside factual claims so you can follow the evidence. These articles do not claim on-site reporting, interviews or kitchen trials unless a story explicitly identifies that work.

What we use

We begin with original announcements, official statistics, heritage records and research. Where possible, we compare independent reporting and look for conflicting details. An organiser’s description is attributed to the organiser; it is not a restaurant review or an independent endorsement.

Dates and context

We distinguish an event date from the date a report was issued. Cultural explainers may draw on older records. A research-check date records when sources were checked, not a new announcement or a claim that all facts will remain current.

What we add

Our aim is to connect supported facts with useful context, careful explanations and questions worth exploring. We separate examples and editorial suggestions from reported findings. We do not invent quotations, personal visits, testing or contributor credentials.

Images and credits

Article images are chosen for the subject of each story. We use third-party photographs only where the stated licence or permission allows website publication, with source and licence credits. Archived photographs are dated and illustrative photographs are identified. When a suitable photograph is unavailable, we may use a clearly labelled AI-generated illustration. It must not be presented as documentary evidence of an event. Your ability to reuse a third-party photograph depends on its linked licence.

Corrections

If a claim needs correcting, email thestapleatelier@gmail.com with the article title, the point in question and a source where available. The team can then review it. Material corrections should be identified on the article when made.
